The Witchfinder General

Short notice but for those interested, the 1968 classic horror film Witchfinder General starring Vincent Price and Ian Ogilvy is being shown tonight at 10.10 pm (BST) on BBC Four.

The film is based on true events carried out by self-proclaimed 'Witchfinder General'  Matthew Hopkins across East Anglia from 1644 until 1646.
His two-year campaign resulted in the torture and death of probably hundreds of innocent women.

If you missed it, it's still available on the BBC iPlayer until Halloween on the 31st October, spooky!

I'm currently working on a new article on this very subject, to be published here soon. In the meantime, take a look here.
